Dance and Drama
One of the best school event ideas, would be dance and drama. They are the perfect choices for any arts festival or art presentation. It is one of the most popular forms of school activity that involves several students and sometimes even the teachers. Students with good vocal or acting skills can participate and make a name for themselves while they shine under the limelight. Dance and Drama can be organized as two different events or can be merged into one. When merged, it will be a performance that presents the art of dancing and acting simultaneously. Students can come up with their own story and act it out, or use existing literature to organize a flawless presentation of their skills.
Organizers can turn the whole activity into a competition where different teams are scored for the various aspects of the act, including the story, the presentation, the acting, the vocals, and the artistic value altogether.
Badminton
Badminton is a fun sport to play. Schools that encourage sports events should add it to their list of fun school event ideas in Phase 3 due to its socially distant nature. The game requires two players or two pairs of players in opposite teams, and the team that scores the most points win.
As a school event, one can organize a badminton tournament with various categories like singles for boys, singles for girls, mixed doubles, and so on. Each type could have a winning prize and several additional prizes can be included like the maximum points scored or the minimum number of serves in a winning game for example.
Archery Tag
Archery tag is one of the new and popular games that is moving into sports events. Invented in 2011 and popularized by the books and movie series, The Hunger Games, the game is very similar to dodgeball but is played with bows and foam-tipped arrows. Organizing an archery tag tournament could be an enjoyable and thrilling experience for all students as they get something to learn and show off their new archery skills.
With teams of 5 and very minimal equipment, archery tag is a great sport for students to understand teamwork and have fun in the National School Games (NSG). Each school could have their teams and compete against other schools to win the final prize. Although dodgeball has been around for years, it has not gained as much popularity as Archery Tag, and definitely not as quickly.
