Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) has been gaining popularity in the past few years. VR is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. EduSportSingapore offers various team-bonding activities through Virtual Reality. This activity give students the opportunity to immerse in environments that might otherwise not be possible.

An example of such environments are height element activities that has been suspended. Within groups of 5, students will take turns to participate in various height element activities such as rock climbing. Through the use of VR, students will also learn key skills such as techniques to maximise their stamina, importance of planning and the use of chalk while climbing.

Tchoukball

Tchoukball was first invented in Switzerland in 1970s. The game is played with two “rebound frames” and the objective of the game is to throw the ball at the rebound surface after a maximum of three passes. After the ball hits the rebound surface, the ball must touch the floor outside of the forbidden zone to score a point.

Although Tchoukball usually involves a group of 7, a modified small-sided game can still be played. Within groups of 5, students play in a 3v2 scenario and take turns to attack. This modified game of Tchoukball is equally as fun and will definitely keep students entertained and engaged. Tchoukball sport is a Sport Education Programme (SEP) Endorsed Programme. Archery Tag and Archery Shooting

Archery tag is one of the new and popular games that is moving into sports events. Invented in 2011 and popularized by the books and movie series, The Hunger Games, the game is very similar to dodgeball but is played with bows and foam-tipped arrows. Organising an archery tag tournament could be an enjoyable and thrilling experience for all students.

With teams of 5 and very minimal equipment, archery tag is a great sport for students to understand teamwork and have fun. Each school could have their teams and compete against other schools to win the final prize. Although dodgeball has been around for years, it has not gained as much popularity as Archery Tag, and definitely not as quickly.

Archery Shooting is much like an introductory to Archery activity. Firstly, it teaches the proper techniques of bow holding, arrow positioning and launching. Secondly, it challenges students to knock over targets of various difficulties during this activity. This helps to improve student’s alertness and accuracy levels. Lastly, it is also one of the safer sport to be conducted amidst the Covid-19 situation. Furthermore, both Archery Tag and Archery are also SEP Endorsed Programmes.
