Why is After School Engagement Important?
1. It builds everlasting bonds
Firstly, sports teaches students about teamwork and cooperating with others. By being in teams, students are forced to interact with others that may have varying strengths and weaknesses. This helps to create bonds with one another, building a cohesive society.
2. It builds Confidence
Sports helps students trust their own abilities and push themselves out of their comfort zones. While doing this, they inevitably build confidence and self esteem.
3. It promotes Brain Development
Research has shown that links sports to children’s brain development. The constant movement stimulates the brain which then stimulates the mind. There has also been research that has proven that there is a positive correlation between sports performance and academic ability.
